What software are useful for an accountant?

Greetings, /g/entoomen. I applied for a job a while back, I didn't remember exact dates for some of my old jobs from several years ago. None of them were significant, just restaurants and grocery stores etc.

I got hired, but they have this ridiculously intensive background check process. Anyways, due to slight discrepancies in my reported dates and what they found ,or in one case because no one would pick up the phone at my old job, they now want me to send tax transcripts for like the last 7yrs.

I did a lot of research, and apparently these people are notorious for firing people/revoking offers, one guy even said he got fired because he put 3/31 instead of 4/01 on the dates for an old job.

It's really well paying, so preferably i'd like to avoid that outcome.

What technologies can I use to make a convincing edit to a PDF? Any advice much appreciated. Cheers.
