I don't know how this works so forgive me if I'm retarded but, you can make a custom launcher for android right? Which is basically the home screen, right? Why not have a launcher that immediately boots into a virtual smaller operating system luke kolibrios or something so that you turn on the device and it just acts like the OS apart from potentially having to troubleshooter your vm/emulator...? Would this work?
