Hifi thread

No.100281499 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Moving to a larger flat and I’m looking at making my first hifi system purchase after years of being restricted to headphones due to lack of space. I’ll have a decent sized spare room I intend to use as a study and music room.

The Marantz Melody X M-CR612 & Dali Oberon 1 has caught my eye. I intend to play music mainly through Bluetooth or Apple Airplay so this looks like an ideal setup for wireless play. Price is £699 excluding speaker cables.

Could I get much better for the money in terms of sound quality? Wireless play is essential as I barely own any CDs and have no interest in starting a record collection. Bookshelf speakers look like the best option but I could get floor speakers for a similar price.

Also discuss hifi systems.
